Rita Reys has always been among those seemingly ageless people who are dedicated to a life of artistic creativity and perfectionism. More than once she has said "Never become indifferent, you must stay involved with what you do". She fully understands the art of professional singing; an art that requires first of all the ability to understand and convey the story a song is telling. Rita Reys belongs to a generation of outstanding musical storytellers, and her interpretations of American jazz and easy listening repertoire have gained her permanent place among the great vocalists of our time.
You might say that here voice is not as stable as it ever was, but heck, no wonder; on December 21, 2009 she celebated her 85th birthday, so she was 85 years old when this album was recorded !! I.m.h.o. it's a great album, and you can feel the joyful interaction between Rita and the musicians, who seamlessly accompany this vital and energetic "Dutch First Lady of Jazz". Recommended !!!!
